Freelance Lighting Designer & Operator
Design and operation for live music, theatre, festivals and television — shaping atmosphere, drama and energy around the performance.
Lighting is the difference between a stage and a moment. Across touring theatre, live music, festivals and broadcast, Mike Stevens designs and operates light that serves the show — and makes every seat feel like the front row.

Mike Stevens is a freelance lighting designer and programmer working across live music, theatre and live events in the UK. He delivers lighting that supports performance, strengthens visual impact and keeps the focus on the stage.
His approach is simple: use light with intent. Every cue, transition and look is built to serve the show, shape atmosphere and guide audience attention without distraction.
Work spans small venues through to large touring productions, adapting to different spaces, teams and technical setups. Each project is programmed and operated on professional MA Lighting systems, with a focus on consistency, reliability and clean execution under pressure.
The aim is always the same — clear, purposeful lighting that holds up in real-world live environments and gives the production what it needs to land.
